Christmas comes because Jesus came. Jesus came for people who experience high mountaintops and deep valleys. Jesus was born into the middle of surprise and sadness, delight and despair. He is the Light of the World to live by in the darkest of our days. He was born to us as a baby in a manger. He is with us now as the Savior. Jesus is the ever-present help in our times of need and our times of plenty, and He is constant and unfailing through every win and every loss.
Christmas is the promise that Jesus is everything we need in every season.
Christmas at Mount Vernon always includes events and gatherings that celebrate the good news that Jesus came to save and is worthy of our worship! He is the good news of the gospel! The glorious announcement of the angels to the shepherds is still the greatest news we could ever hope to hear…
“For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior who is Christ the Lord.”
Luke 2:11 (ESV)
